Permanent Residence for Parents
Dear All,
I heard that Permanent residence for parents is possible now for a fee of QAR 2,500.
I just want someone here to confirm this before I go to imiigration and embarass myself. My mother is 59 years old and I am looking to sponsor her. She is totally dependent on me. She recently went back after staying for six months.
I guess anyone working at the immigration department might help.
Hi Victory_278692,
But after expiring of visit visa from one brother, should their mother exit the country or not?? and another thing is after completion one visit period either it is 3 to 6 months, the visitor cannot come back for at least 3 months, m i right?? if yes then how their mother can live round the year??? Please advise.
not in possible in qatar
Thanks How many times this visit visa can be extended ?
It is not RP it is a visit visa, expiring once every 3 months.
Hello Victory_278692,
Your information looks quite relevant. If it's true is it possible to share some reference though whom i can learn the procedure of parent RP.
Thanks,
Regards.
Right LP.........Guest are NOT allowed to bring all HIS dependent to HOST house.
It is allowed in UAE for high salaried individuals, by
paying Medical / Health Insurance of AED 5000/- annually for each parent.
YOu are right BB.....it carries Economic sense but human values are missing.
I know a family in Qatar having 4 brothers staying in Qatar for last over 2 decades; each brother sponsored their aged mother separately to keep her in Qatar round a year.
Indeed, they are "no one". Great, BLUEBULL.
LP - It's possible for the camels who come across the border from the Kingdom.
'Permanent Residence' is not possible for noone! Remember: you are here as a guest. Ha, ha.
then try asking the immigration officers to confirm..they are the right persons to answer your question...
minhajj, find a good job back in your place and take care of your parents there itself.
minhajj - If you don't get the sarcasm in my post above, you would do extremely well to keep your mouth shut instead :) Not sure how sensitive you are about your parents but they surely didn't teach you a lot of manners!
Blue bell, if you cannot be of any help then please just keep your mouth shut.
I dont know how parents are treated in your part of the world, but we are very sensitive when it comes to parents.
So just think before speaking and do not comment just for the sake of making a comment and grabbing attention.
Hopefully you are not offended !!!
not possible....
i have a friend whom he applied for a visit visa for his mother (68 yrs old). the immigration rejected his application for age reason. we're not sure of the age limit since the officer did'nt answer my friend's question regarding max. age allowed.
Why should the government here take the burden of parents sponsorship and medical insurances etc? Will our parents be able to contribute to the economy in any way? Qatar is a growing economy and it cannot afford needless burdens on its shoulders.
I would be happy to be proven wrong ;)
I have not tried to apply for the RP personally, but a friend of mine has been trying for the last three years now but all in vain.
Can the expert please comment in this it may be very useful to a lot of people.
Hi,Please let me know if for a single dependent parent residence visa is possible in qatar.Regards.
minhajj, have u tried to apply for this visa?
Nice and Healthy Discussion ... Quite informative.
Thanks a ton guys.
anish79 ... can you please help me with the procedure. Even I don't mind renewing it every year.
dear mir2890: i shared my knowledge... you can share your knowledge. unless i had mentioned here. how you would have countered me. i don't think you have the right to stop others from talking. better be careful. you are most welcome to share your knowledge and information. so hope you will be patient and respond in a better friendly manner. if my information is wrong, by your response i can correct it.
did you have to go through to get you mother on your sponsorship. could you elaborate the process for the benefit of all
One of my uncle is being sponsored by his son in the UAE. Its not something impossible in the GCC. For now, Qatar doesn't have a rule giving permanent residency for parents but may follow the rest of GCC at some stage, you never know.
Be_Happy_Cool:
If u have not heard that does not mean it is existing, I am staying in dubai and have my mother on RP for last 7 years. My cousin is in Kuwait and he has both his parents on RP there and as someone else said that in Saudi also parents r allowed on RP.
So better be sure, before you respond!!!
Is Bicycle playing cards a requirement for permanent residence of Parents ?
Hi there. Where we can get Bicycle Playing Cards here in Doha? The original one. What Store? Thanks
My uncle stays in Riyadh Saudi Arabia with his family and my grandmother also stays with him on a permanent residence since she was 70. Now she is 86 and still staying with them. My uncle is the only son and since my grandfather is no more, where would an old woman stay? I think if you have a proper justification, you can sponsor your parents..
I think that is the normal or standard questions asked by the agents when they type the forms. Nothing to do with visa for parents. i have never heard RP for parents in GCC.
One of my friends went to the immigration department for visa extension of his parents.
The guys filling out the form asked him whether this is for Permanent residence or temporary.
I know there is no official annoucement but you never know in this country.
so far and to my knowledge this is not allowed in the immigration scheme actually presenet in Qatar.
Maybe the source from which you heard is trying to make some easy money and then leave a "big trouble" behind.
Only wife and kids can get RP.
And by the way nothing has been officially notified by Immigration neither in the newspapers nor in any of the government related websites.
Regards!!
