Qatar to announce first tender for railway system

I've seen some of the plans, and they look ambitious and impressive, but does anyone have a sense of whether or not it will work--i.e. be built as planned, relatively on time, be safe, and ease traffic? I'm not an engineer, so I am curious what the experts think.

Infrastructures here in qatar seems to be really ambitious with all its soft and hard landscaping strictly being part of the plans. Looking beyond 2022, It will still work I guess. This can still be used in promoting tourism in the country for easy access in places here in Qatar but it will not really be built as planned and definitely not on time. Nevertheless, it will ease traffic and safe.

I think this project is necessary both in the short and long run. The development of Qatar is not only for the residents but i suspect that the government has its focus on tourism to expand and diversify the economy in the near future. We know what rush hour traffic is like presently, so i can not imagine how it would be in the next four years without this project on course.

A project that will mainly serve one month in 2022, after that, the population of Qatar will decrease (most of the people employed in the construction industry will be gone) to lower numbers than it is today in 2011!

Overdeveloping the desert is in my opinion burning money, the future will confirm it!
