Got an offer to work in Qatar. For a Civil Engineer how much would be a decent salary? I am a Filipino.

Thanks to everybody for any input.

Thanks, hms. People with money tends to overspend everywhere. But more so in Qatar, I believe, judging from the posts. In the case of Filipino Community, I only pray that a big chunk of this money is given to support the charity works of the only (?, not sure) Catholic Church in Doha, OLOTHR.

If I sound judgmental, come home to our country, and you will share my sentiment. You people have no appreciation of how lucky you are.

Trawling through the postings is quite a depressing experience. Coming from the Philippines, I was very shocked to learn of people asking if they can live as couples on 48k per month. If you are truly rich, you have no business uprooting youself to go to a MidEast country, whatever your country of origin is. If you are only a salaryman (as the Japanese put it) I pray that may you be blessed with a wake up call to realise how blessed you are to get this salary.

This website is educational not for the answers you get, but for the kind of people posting on it.

Thanks, anyway.

Thanks baldrick. I tried typing salary on the search box and was shocked to read that there are people complaining that 20 to 25K is not enough. What are they doing in Qatar to blow through this pile of cash every month? Some of the posters are obviously pinoys ... they already forgot where they came from?
