Now im worried cause the agency wants me to pay a big amount just for the processing of visa at POEA

what is the best thing to do... so i can avoid the agency thing...

Actually this is a requirement now if your direct hire you must find a legitimate agency who can help you to process your working visa not like before you can process it by yourself, but now there is new procedure its a must to go through agency to help you to process your working visa in POEA or else they will not issue you an OEC to permit you to fly here in qatar. Actually same scenario with me..just arrived here last week and also I was direct hired from the Philippines.

Since there are a lot of legworks really in POEA, and my boss advised me to get an agency in Manila to process my documentation.

My company paid all my documentation process, maybe you can request it too so you may able to fasten all the transactions there.

Well just to give you advice, much better to have an agency

if you are a direct hire, you can go to POEA and inquire for the procedure. You can avoid the agency but you will do all the legworks and it's really tiring. If you have the patience, you can do it.

My tip, it's easy to find a suitable agency, you just ask around POEA, they have "contacts". It will make the processing a little easier!

Its a requirement of POEA for foreign employers wishes to hire OFW only through licensed recruitment agency in the Philippines since they will assume the responsibility of the employees. Just look for agency that will not charge hefty placement fee. Its for your own safety against abused.

kabayan, from visit visa the company will transfer it to working visa or company visa.. its not you who will process that, its the company who hired you. wag kang magpadala sa mga payment na yan...
