Basically dude the market value of a PRODUCTIVE Sales Engineer is around 10k to 15k. But the keyword in this to notice would be - PRODUCTIVE. For any newbie it would take roughly a year to successfully adjust to the market and start adding value to your organization. Also depends a lot on your product portfolio and the market segment you are aiming at.

Like most say do a lot of research on your company, work culture and the opportunities for growth and developing yourself within. 3,500 QR will get you nowhere unless you are looking at a pay hike in the next year and a salary of a minimum 6k from then on.

I have gone through all this and am currently working here as a Sales Engineer in a reputed organization. The job is good but is very much demanding - physically and mentally !

If you have what it takes - go ahead. But believe me if you choose this path you will have to be extremely competitive and ambitious to make it big :D

Feel free to shoot a mail - if you want any further advice. Ciao.

Take it if the Company you are to join will give you the expeirence you require. Do remember though - after 3-5 years of expeirence, your market value will increase however to note that most private Co's that employ engineer's (O&G industry) out here do not give out NOC's that easily. Carry out some research on the Company you are to join.

Further to what B2D has been saying, if the offer is something that you feel happy about, take it; if not, don't.

For freshers like you, the most important thing is to get some work experience. Once you already have enough experience, then you will eventually have more job offers and you could then demand the salary that you want.

If it's more than you earn now, take it. If it's less, don't.

Dude, I think that salary for a fresher is pretty good. What you learn in text books in engineering are only light that shines on the path you must take. for the first five years after your engineering, you need to slog it out. Gain as much experience as you can. If you need more guidance just email me or pass me a personal message.
