@ John1971....as far as i know you can only convert your driving license to Qatar driving license ones you have an RP / Qatar residence permit. But if you don't have yet the said RP then you can only apply a temporary driving license on monthly renewal basis. Just go to Traffic dept. and show your UAE driving license and they will issue a Qatar temporary driving license and pay the bill amounting QAR100. Ones you have an RP that's the time you can convert your temporary driving license to Qatar driving license.

@ crazy for cosmetics....Al Rayan driving school is the best location where you can have your driving school because i was working somewhre in bin mahmoud when i had my driving class in the morning around 7AM. And its very accessible from bin mahmoud going to sports round about then al rayan road to driving school. Good Luck :)

Hi everybody,

I'll be moving to Qatar by mid May 11. My query is - can I "convert" my UAE license to a Qatar one? I.e., I have been advised that upon presentation of my valid UAE license, a mandatory eye-test and payment of fee, I shall be given a Qatari license. Is this true?

I suggest you go to Al-Rayan. My instructor was Filipina also. Her name is Gee/Gie. Both of them Jo and Gie are good instructor. And like happycouple, i passed the test in one take only. ;)

You should go for Al-khebra. some school may have one or two good instructor but u can't rely on your luck. Overall al-khebra is the best school specially when you are a lady. you go there after 5pm and see yourself the environment there. best of luck for the driving

driving school, if you live in Al Rayan area you can take the class in Al Rayan Driving school there's one good filipina driving instructor her name is Jo. She was my instructor and i find her a good instructor because she taught me well in my driving skills and alhamdulilah i passed the test one time take only :). Tips is just listen to her and follow all her instructions and you will be a good driver and get driving license :)

As MMAwan said, I also suggest you to go with Al Khebra Driving School. Fee for the full course (40 days) cost QR.2510.00 only. There's woman instructor available upon your request.

Its depend area you are living. Many driving schools are in Qatar. All are Ok and equally good, you can request them for woman instructor. I heard Al Khibra driving school near MES Indian School is good. It is in abu hamour.
