Work Visa and RP

I am an American with a job waiting in Qatar. I have been told Qatar is not giving any Americans work visas currently. Is this true? Can I expect Qatar to give visa and RP at some future point?
Thank You

If they're taking too long in processing your work visa, I guess it's time for you to explore other options. Visit the following websites, www.gulftalent.com and www.bayt.com, and there you will find lots of job opportunities not only in Qatar but also in other parts of the GCC. Good luck!

I am certainly qualified. I have signed the offer letter months ago. I just keep getting delayed. I have jumped through all the hoops. If I cannot start soon I need to move on to other options. I'm being told it is not just my visa but others too. Any Americans get work visa this year?

Don't believe every rumor you hear. Why would the State of Qatar stop issuing work visas to Americans? If you are qualified for the job and your experience and skills would certainly contribute in the country's continued development, then Qatar would surely be glad to have you here.

I will try to find more information there. I'm excited about going to Qatar but I will need to find a job elsewhere if I can't get a visa soon.

Thank you.

Only the labour ministry or the ministry of interior could answer that question.
