TOD'S my complain

mallrat
By mallrat

Last Friday 1 April, between 6-8pm
.
We love the tan Loafers at the windows of TOD'S and decide to check it out, so we go inside the boutique.
On the rack, there are snake skin in cerulean and pretty pink. Jorg tried both of it and we were discussing which one is better.
Then a loud arrogant-tone voice uttered "Excuse me, you are not allowed to fit that shoe,
you are not allowed to leave your own shoes over there, that is a pathway (pointinng the floor where we are standing). You 'can' try it on in the carpeted area over there (pointing at the other side of the shop) You 'can' ask for the size and il get it for you."
.
We are so shocked by the loud, demanding voice. We could not say anything but leave.
.
TOD'S should get rid of that arrogant Salesman that checks the customer's outfit and underestimate them.
I mean, you cannot judge people just beacuse they are wearing slippers(Birkenstock).

I hate to see these grumpy sales people guarding my favorite stores, don't you?
I wonder if the Store Manager or the owner really cares?
This employee acts like he is poorly paid, Sales Associate that really aren’t happy to see people buying their product.
As far as im concern, No matter how interested i am to get those Loafers i got so discourage not to.
Fine, what he is yelling about is correct but can he atleast be courteous and respectful enough for strange people who he thinks is poor? Do you really need to raise your voice when you are talking 1 meter apart?

And gosh, for a pregnant Jorg who is so eager to try the shoe, does she really needs to go to the carpeted area and wait? -hassle
FYI, there are NO customer during that time, nobody would use that 'damned' pathway he is ranting about.
.
.
TOD'S VIP Area, Villaggio Mall, Doha Qatar
This guy im atalking about is Slim, Tall, dark and nevermind.
He was the only Sales Associte attending the store that particular time.

Excuse me, i know d difference between TOD's, LV, Gucci, P. Schouler, Prada “flatform” creepers, Acne snakeskin boots, Lanvin high-top sneakers, Jil Sander shoes, Cesare Paciotti shoes, and...... Shoemart.

.

I never experienced being shouted in any designer's shop here and abroad.

On my part, there is no discrimination against Birken users. That only applies to ignorant people who don't have idea what is it, example is that S.A. im talking about.

I'm confused at the perceived prejudice against Birkenstock wearers.......I also see a rather large pommes de frite on a shoulder........

Angelina true the same thing would have been told but the staff can be polite in telling that, no?

I think the OP got more upset by the tone than the actual words used.

Being polite always comes in handy, no matter how big the brand name is.

Nomerci, I'll be at Mall of the Emirates next weekend, if you want to send me a picture of the FitFlops I'll have a look. They've got a Harvey Nichols there, they may be cheaper in the store.

Sorry but if you were in TODs in say London, if you were trying shoes on on the floor you would have been told the same! Its not bloody Shoe Mart!

Your reaction to an argument within a debate is a vivid example of the typical coercive crash of any attempt to criticize the topic I did. By applying fear, your alikes keep all criticisms away and like this retain their power.

It might work here, and obviously to the entire world, it sure does where you come from, but rest assured it does not work in the free world (west, east, north and south).

When we are secure and mature, we coop with criticism by engaging in a rational debate and definitely never by threat (no matter how disguised we apply it).

Just some food for your own thoughts, as you just illustrated how certain cultural dimensions influence behavior, in this case religious education.

Stay well and happy ;)

Never mind NIC

this is what i always read from U.

doesn't matter if a person farting inside a toilet, U'll make the connections of farting to a particular religion.

Alter Dusty,

In these precise circumstances, it may appear to be a dumb question out of context, but you might have a point there:

Religion in this region does play a huge role in daily lives and its influence can’t be neglected in the culture and pattern behaviors of its followers.

However let’s not jump into conclusions as it all indicates a huge management fault:

- hiring the wrong person

- paying a low salary

- No training

- ...

I did not buy any, just asked all the colors and tried it on (to annoy the jerk ;)

I plan to buy some pairs and returned it back later (to iritate him more;), but no, i thought that's enough.

My words are more painful and besides, he was suddenly nice and showed excellent service to me while i did the fittings :)

NIC

didn't heard from U if this story has to do something with religion majority practicing in this region?

But more importantly, did you get the shoes????

AND, a question for you...I am looking for Fitflops, Electra gold ...can't find them on line, except for Harvey Nic's, who are asking a fortune(3 times the price they usually would be) for them...do you know where I could get them?

Thank you for that great offer, Thank you Madam but No, thank you.

.

As soon as i got Jorg her fresh fruit juice at Dean and Deluca, I feel so aggravated so i went back to TOD'S.

I did not leave the boutique without the 'efff u's

and all the foul-mouthed words that he deserves.

I made sure that he knows why he is inside that store selling while i do the shopping.

.

Im not d devil, but i certainly am not the AngeL :)

let me guess Lebanese?

like in some other quality stores here.. have to go to Tiffany, Burberry or just any of the stores just simply because of their staff and their arrogant behavior, dont even know how to shave, knot a tie or spell the word service

It’s not his fault, it’s the management's.

He is poorly paid, untrained and as LP said, probably bored.

The management (if they cared) would make sure that they would pay the employees a salary good enough to attract people with a minimum education and would in addition provide them with the adequate training.

It just does not happen here because no one cares about nothing...

This happens when money is cheap and pours freely out of the surface of earth – no need and no motivation to strive or succeed, the money was already there to start with…
