hello there!welcome to qatar...dubai and qatar has similarities except that there aint much places to go to,like you when i first came here from dubai i was bored as hell, but as u get along, ull get use to the life here esp. when you made lots of friends,and if i were to compare dubai and qatar,personally i find qatar peaceful than dubai. so there!try to have fun as much as you can!
I mean dry in terms of place being sad and not much activities to be done- except 4 malls and a corniche may be i have high expectations....cheers thanks for revert.
Well summer is around the corner and it can get very dry so just enjoy the experience while you can. You can always visit Motel Dakka at the industrial area street # 24 to lift your spirits from time to time

we have had some rains here last few months...qatar wasn't too dry last year.
