Parents offer body parts to pay off kids' education loan
HOUSTON: A Boston couple have offered to sell their own body parts to pay off their children's $2,00,000 student loan.

"Use my body for anything legal, or medically experimental . Simply pay off all of my children's student loans and you can use me anyway you need," an advertisement said asking "Do you need a live 'cadaver?'" posted on Craigslist Boston in the "jobs wanted" section of the website.

It added, "I am 5'10" 200lbs and have all my organs in working order. Take my blood, take my plasma. Drill into my brain, my leg, my arm. Tap my heart, my liver, my kidney. If you eliminate my children's student loans, I will give you my life!" The poster, which did not include their name, exact location or gender , said the children's student loans total $200,000.

I understand the concept of love for your children but how bad has society got they need do this?

They should not be allowed to do this for start and it should never have got to this.

How many body parts can you sell though without ending up killing yourself and if that is the case would the kids really want their parents to die?

After reading about neglectful parents to murderous ones and state intervention in raising the offspring, news like this [if true] is a good pointer that there are some still genuine ones, but this is a tragic step and the kids should come out and pay up and save their priceless parents.

nothing to worry about that Eagle.

that's part of parent's risk has to offer for their children.

before we are all born, our mothers have all the risk whether the child could come out with missing parts or abnormal. but still she continues to deliver the baby...

What if children fail in complete education ?!!

This mean parents sold their bodies for nothing.

What I understand by logic, I can sell what I create or made before or baught before.

Even Harvard charges below 100,000 for a graduate program so I am wondering where did the students get their education.

If it was at one of the ivy league schools with astronomical fees then surely they will get a job to help repay the amount and you get good terms for student loans. Why do the parents need to try this?

actually private universities in the US are similar to the ones here. the tuition fees runs upto about $50000-70000 a year.

Is very sad indeed that this is happening but the kids ought to be proud of their parents

Maybe the parents are feeling guilty for not investing in a college fund for their kids?

By the way 200,000 $ student loans!!

Which graduate program charges so much?
