Qmiles, are they obsolete now?

I have hundreds of thousands of Qmiles, yet I do not find them useful any time I make a reservation on Qatar Airways. It is either lack of seats at the desired dates, or the taxes which sometimes exceeds the full fair of other airlines. I have just checked to reserve a flight 4 months ahead of time, and they have no seats for Qmiles. I started to loose interest in this Qmiles, what are your thoughts?

I just checked for a reservation for Sept 2011 Doha-Washington, they do not have availability. I do not know how advance you need to be if 7 months is not enough.
I got my seat first time. You just need to book well in advance :o)

I agree with you regarding the seat availability. Everytime I booked I was forced to take a business class because other seats are not available !This is another form of rip off. so it is just not worth it. They take your money either way.
It depends on the destination and time of booking.If you are booking in peak time (like summer time), you are likely to face this problem. I book,every year to all my family, via Qmiles, saving considerable amount of Qrs...Keep on trying...
