A 22-year-old girl died after she was allegedly set afire by the husband of a panchayat head and two others in Narheda village, police said today.
Geeta, who succumbed to burn injuries in a hospital, in her dying declaration alleged that Mohammad Asif, the husband of panchayat head Nasreen, had called her father yesterday to his house over a property dispute, but she went there as her father was not in the house.
Asif tried to molest her and when she resisted he along with his brother and a friend beat her up. They later poured kerosene on her and set her ablaze, she claimed before dying.

A horrible way to die. May she rest in peace and may her killer be swiftly brought to justice.
