Another Visa Question ( UK Expat in KSA )

Tried posting this question earlier today, but after the web site glitch, it seems to have disappeared....

I'd alike a bit of clarification please, if anyone can help?

I'm in Riyadh, have accepted a job offer in Doha, and I have been told that I need to take all my documents with me ( Certificates, Passport, Marriage Certificate etc ) with me to the Qatari Embassy(QE) in Riyadh.

Questions:
- When I go to the QE, how long will it take to issue the Visa.

- Will the QE need anything from my future employers ( cable number? ) to confirm who I will be working for and job title?

- Any idea of the cost?

- How long is the visa valid for, i.e. when do I have to travel to Qatar?

It's just that I can't imagine just turning up at the QE and asking for a visa. Surely they will want further info?

I first need to take all documents to the British Embassy to get them to attest all documents.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the response QS.

Just had an update so that changes things somewhat. I need to send all my documents (mainly Qualification Certificates ) and get these attested by the Home Office in the UK and then confirmed by the QE in UK.

Once that is done, I then send a copy of that bundle to the employer in Qatar who then apply for my visa. So the info I was first given was a bit duff.

This seems to make more sense, handing all the stuff back to the employer in Qatar and letting them take over the visa issue.

Cheers.

I didn’t get why you have to go to QE for your visa? Your future employer should apply here in Qatar for your work visa. Once its’ issued, the employer buys you a ticket and brings you here. It shouldn’t be your concern.
