False Restaurant Reviews .. Be careful

I just figured out, that if a restaurant reviewed here has many positive reviews, there is a good chance that an employee made the reviews .. take for instance this restaurant:

http://www.qatarliving.com/reviews/restaurants/turkish/iskender-kebab-ho...

ALL THE REVIEWS ARE SUBMITTED BY THE SAME PERSON: A marketing manager for the parent company of the restaurant, check the profile of each of the users, they all review restaurants for the parent company which also owns pizzaland, le gourmet .. etc ..

Based on the false reviews, i ordered some for lunch, for me and my co workers:

- Delivery 2.5 hours late
- food is average, better off with turkey central. The eskandar kebab is really bad
- Order delivered was WRONG

Called to make them refund my money, they did NOT refund anything, just told me they would send the driver to get rid of me, did NOT send him

asked for the parent company and to speak to their General Manager. He called me and was very rude, insulting and disrespectful to me over the phone

VERY BAD RESTAURANT >> AVOID AT ANY COST .. MUCH BETTER TURKISH FOOD AT OTHER PLACES THERE

I suffered similar situation in the past, heads up for bringing this topic for discussion. There should be something like BBB (Better Business Bureau) in order to handle these things. Each Restaurant should be rated as per their performance, hospitality and food quality.

You should file a lawsuit against the General Manager for insulting you. We need to improve the image of Qatar and these pathetic Restaurants can not ruin it.

You are right all the posting in the favor of their Restaurant is from same persons. It should be treated as fraud. QL did a right thing by moving them from their web site. Great Job

The linked thread is gone.

Call up again and demand your money back but this time record the conversation. If he curses and blasphemes report him. He could get seven years in jail.

...you should put this up on other Qatar websites, too (like Qatarvisitor, etc.) and on places like Trip Advisor.

It needs to be brought to the attention of users on as many restaurant review sites as possible.

You should probably also bring this to the attention of the Mods here.

However their food might be, for this underhanded tactic alone, they deserve it.

The most off-putting thing, who knows how many other such there might be?

HA HA!! You are right.. I can easily make out that the same guy has uploaded all the reviews..CROOKS!!

Kudos for bringing it out in the open...I might have gone there one of these days, as I try to test every Arabic restaurant in town..

The way I see it ... If the reviewer just has the blank face avatar, ignore it. Usually someone who works there.

add insult to injury, the general manager of the parent company started insulting and cursing over the phone when i complained about the restaurant .. not exactly the most friendly attitude for the hospitality industry
