If you go and collect a temporary health card from nearest health centre , every thing should be free except , I think they have charged 30 qrs for ultra sound scan. Lab, medicine and consultations are absolutely free.

Go to the Nearest Public Health Centre and apply for a Temporary Health Card (do ask the reception for a Health card for your wife, they will issue a temporary one after noticed the visa status) cost is Qrs 60, (submit a copy of your ID card, Wife Visa copy + Passport Copy)

They open a file in your wife's name and she can continue periodical check up their with with out any cost , including medicine and lab else they refer to Hamad, if they noticed any critical or complication .

arrived 3 weeks ago and have had an ultrasound done .... it cost me 200Qrs

The only thing is that im not getting a proper follow up in terms of blood tests and regular checks ... the next ultrasound will be at 24 weeks .....after that i need to ensure i choose the correct place to deliver our baby .... we can do so... its just finding out the best place and hope it wont cost a massive fortune.

good luck for you both ... i have been advised that the Ali hospital is very good ... i still need to go and see it.
