My Co is not allowing to me with in One month Period Notice after given resign

Hi Dear All
I have given resignation due to serious personal problems met at back home on 24th with one month notice period which ends on 24th Dec 2010 but my Co is saying i have to work 3months.
Should I work three months?
if I go to labor court will I able to go with in one month notice period?
i need to go to back home as much as possible as serious problems is going on at home
Could u pls advise wht shul i do ?
Thank u so much in advance for ur valuable advices
I am in helpless situation, pls help me

depends on what your contract says, usually 2 months notice in Qatar, but if you include leave etc. you can leave earlier.

What do these people think? Thatthey will achieve some good by keeping you here? Do they honestly think you will work harder and better after this?

This is control freaks at work, yet again.

If you have serious personal problems (not just a better job elsewhere as many people try to falsely claim) apply to Labour Dept. and Human Rights.There have been cases of suicide and worse here as a result of such situations, much less common now, and the Government made great strides to improve the situation! Negotiate, hope it pays off!

1 month notice is enough to get clearance.
