Assange turned himself in at a London police station at 9:30 a.m. local time and was immediately taken into custody, police officials said. Later Tuesday, his lawyers planned to request that he be freed on bail pending the result of the extradition proceedings, which could take weeks. Assange intends to fight extradition to Sweden, where he is being sought for questioning related to allegations of sexual assault against two women.

They are mad bints. He is actually doing the world a service and you lot hate him lol . I pity you all.

Russian officials have said he should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

A source from inside president Dmitry Medvedev's office told Russian news agencies: 'Public and non-governmental organisations should think of how to help him.

'Maybe, nominate him as a Nobel Prize laureate.'

Just one question: Wikileaks and the charges against him - how can that sound like a 'natural' course of justice to anybody? A pure set-up. He went too far, yes. But because of using his right to 'freedom of speech' and 'true leaks' he has to pay in another way.

i think this guy put the light on the "shadow" governments and since no cover for them now so they are looking after him, but what the benefit now? because nothing can be fixed , harming one man is nothing compared to the damage he did to them.

- but if we take a look to all the people in power who got affected by his leaks, do u think there is an authority can bring them to jail.

notice that we are not talking in this case about two women, we are talking about whole communities

He is charged with "sexual" assault.. He should have seen it coming; raping one government after another.

The swedish authorities seem to be going all out in this particular case. As always the americans make use of their puppets to get the people they cannot get their hands on themselves. The americans are doing exactly the same with the help of their cronies what the chinese are doing to their own people and america calls itself the land of liberty and freedom.

This is a political arrest.

It is a rubbish charge.

ALL of those 'women' were in bed with him willingly. So he did not use a condom. She still had sex with him without the condom. He is not charged with rape. Another woman said he 'forced her legs apart'..yet still not charged with rape. These are trumped up charges because of his web site.

This stinks and the English legal system shows itself up again.

What a complete and utter sham.

He is guilty of showing us the truth not sexual assault.

I believe Wikileaks has done more good than harm. However, the charges against him are serious. If proven, he should be punished severely.

This guy deserves to be in jail.

He is not some vigilanty politaical good guy as he tries to pass him self off to be.

I feel he is a criminal and from the looks of it a alleged sexual predator and I take that very seriously.

Yeah the British and the Swedish yes guys doing the dirty work for Uncle Sam. The USA is going the way of China , North Korea and Myamar now

A government’s best and only defense against damaging spills is to act justly and fairly. By seeking to quell WikiLeaks, its U.S. political opponents are only delaying the inevitable and that is delaying more embarrassing revelations down the road.
