Arriving in Qatar - what visa/status?

By mrvm

My husband is still waiting for his Residency Permit but I've gone ahead and booked one way tix for me and my son.
I was hoping my husband would have his RP and that his company would get me the right paperwork to enter the country by now. So my dilemma is do we enter on a tourist visa and deal with status once there? I read somewhere that this could get complicated though. Will entering on a tourist visa force us to leave the country again?
I'm due to arrive in 10 days.
Advice?

Basically I just want to know that if I and my son enter on a tourist visa on arrival we can stay and work out our residency once my husband has his RP.

I don't want to have to leave the country in 30 days with young child in tow...

Thanks for advise so far. I will go ahead and change my one way ticket to return...as long as I don't have to return!

ok..

you should always book a two way ticket for a tourist visa..anywhere in the world.

now if u have a tourist visa to qatar go ahead and book two way ticket. for one month.

now when u are here in qatar..ur husband should finish his paper and ikama with his sponsor.

he will make a non objection letter to the immigration department from his sponsor to let him start your family visit for six month.

in this time when the letter finish u should get a NOC from the hotel with no objection and u will b on your husband sponsorship after finishing the new family visa from immigration department....

after all this..u should pay 500 QR to switch your visa from tourist to family visa...and u should finish all this during the one month validity of the tourist visa.

the immigration gives u first one month visa u can renew it later for 5 month after doing the commision and blood test ..

NB: U SHOULD FIND A HOTEL WHO CAN GIVES U A TOURIST VISA AND LATER GIVE U AN NOC LETTER WITH NO OBJECTION.

CZ MOST OF THE HOTEL HERE DONT GIVE NOC.

LA PALACE HOTEL WILL GIVE U NOC HIS NUMBER IS:44367301

IF U NEED MORE INFO LET ME KNOW.

Simon.
