where do I go to get a new driving license

I lost my wallet - and did the usual and reported it to the police etc However, they told me that in order to get a replacement driving license, I had to go to the place where I got my eye test done, is this right and also where is it (I can't remember where it is as the only time I went was when I first came to Doha and that was over 2 years ago)

Many thanks in advance

Thanks for that but what I need to understand is what I actually need in order to get replacement driving license - the woman in the police station seemd to say to turn up at the traffic dept, tell them I lost my license and that was it - no paperwork needed but knowing Qatar, surely something else is required - like another formal letter from the police in arabic instructing them to issue a new driving license?

sorry to be pedantic but I have a young baby and having to go anywhere twice here is a real chore, so I would rather get it right the first time.

Thank you all again.

One Number fits all.

Your Driving Licence, RP and ID numbers are all the same.

sorry, to make it clear from my last post, it does not seem right to just turn up at the traffic dept and ask for a new license without some sort of paperwork. The only piece of paperwork I have is for a new ID not for a new driving license, can anyone help???

Thanks, but what I got from the lady at the police station was a letter to take to get a replacement ID and when i asked if I were to show this to the traffic dept she said no, just to go there and and to ask for a new license

File a report with your local police station and then they will issue you a letter in a week or ten days. Based on this letter a new license will be issued by any traffic dept branch.
