Taking back gifts after a breakup!

I've heard of giving back the ring, but a man threatens to repossess ex's implants.

Would you do the same - or take back gifts you may have given after a breakup ?

A German man is demanding his ex-girlfriend pays him back the money he spent on buying her breast implants.

The man, named by his first name Carsten in Bild newspaper, paid for his then girlfriend's breast augmentation procedure in 2009.

His ex, Anastasia, says she now fears her breasts will be repossessed unless she refunds him the £3,700 cost of the operation.

Anastasia admitted that she signed a written agreement with Carsten saying that she would stay with him for at least a year if he paid for the implants.

But they broke up soon after Anastasia had the breast augmentation and Carsten now wants his money back.

Anastasia, 20, told reporters she had already transferred the equivalent of £2,500 into his bank account.

She was worried that Carsten would call the police and get repossesors involved if she failed to pay up.

My ex-bf never asked me to return the gifts, it's my initiative to return before i got married to hubby.

During my bf-gf stage with hubby, I am more the gift giver. I love showering him with gifts and even with cards i made myself. :) Now, I always make him get me GIFTSSSSSSSSS... say, weekly and sometimes even daily. :))

but the situation above is so different, the lady really has to pay.

walked into the bedroom and said to hubby - "My dearest, Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is God's gift, that's why we call it the present."

He said to her "Bugger - you mean you haven't got me anything for my birthday again." :O(

I think if we could see a picture of these two, I think it would reveal all. I hate to stereo type, but I can imagine that the physical attributes of the pair would be very different.

Aye Aye.. Well If I ask back every thing I gave my last GF she will be in Qatar for a very long time to pay me back. But I guess its all gone with the wind. I guess thats what she was after in the first.

She had a husband so she definately was not looking for another one. I guess I was just a fool and she took full advantage of me. But would I ask for all the phones, jewellery, money back from her. I guess the answer is No I will not! even if she two timed me and her husaband big time.

joking aside.. I think both parties are reprehensible.. he was just paying for sex (for what seemed to him a regular "improved" order) and she is clearly a gold-digging b***h... it's a sad sort of relationship but to be honest there is nothing new in the arrangement.. it is centuries old ! marriage in lots of cultures (east and west) is little more than a transaction... call me a synic (happily married thank you) but c'est la vie!

Excuse me and what about the centuries that have gone by with us men paying for the women's every need? You cant be let off Scott free...i think we can implement your way after a few centuries of you women paying for our needs hmmm? That should bring balance to the universe!

Jokes apart, Tinker can you honestly say you have never let a man/bf pay for something in the past for you? Even if it was a cup of tea?

By GodFather.• 1 Dec 2010 09:06

One of ex-colleague is tangled in a bitter divorce which he is claiming back 60k pounds from his ex, he went to the court to prove that he had given her this money over the 2 year relation/marriage which ended when he found out that she was having an affair with another bloke!

What I understand from here is they were not GF or BF, otherwise no BF will sign a contract with GF for any material things. It was just a deal of business and she agreed to spend one year for that much money, thatsall. Now the best option as stated by Colt is to get money from the next guy and pay him.

By timebandit• 1 Dec 2010 08:12

But did he snessy?

By snessy• 1 Dec 2010 08:10

He sounds like a right loser...is this the only way he can keep a girl by getting her to sign a contract saying she'll stay for at least a year...it's not like he didn't get any use out of those boobies.

I personally have never and would never take back gifts after a break up. However, the case here is different. The guy probably had the gut feeling that she may be using him for her boob job and I think he did a wise thing be making her sign the contract.

If she's smart enough, she'll probably con some other guy to make the rest of the payment.

He coughed up the cash and somebody else will take the benefits of it - and a 1 year agreement to stay? Great relationship - not!

Bild is the most ridiculous and not seriously taken newspaper in Germany though ;)

By britexpat• 1 Dec 2010 07:32

One could say that she "sold" herself to him for a year in return for the boob job ..

By greentea• 1 Dec 2010 07:27

what kind of man he is that his gf could not even stay with him for a year to honor the contract so as to avoid paying up :(

By smoke• 1 Dec 2010 07:23
smoke

He has every right to ask for the money in my opinion, from what i see she has agreed to a written contract stating she will remain with him for a year after the implants.

The poor guy must feel cheated...after spending so much on buying the goods and having a 1 year warranty he cant use it so yes refund is necessary :P

By timebandit• 1 Dec 2010 07:22
timebandit

Brit you like I would have never got her to sign an agreement in the first place. I'm sure her improved boobs will prove to be a good investment for her, they will probably allow her to do even better in life as it seems that is what she wants them for. Good luck to her, but she decided the agreement was reasonable when she entered into it. Maybe she reasoned that he wouldn't ask for the money back. Well surprise my dear, he does.

By anonymous• 1 Dec 2010 07:17

She should pay for the BIG boobs..she wanted them she made a deal now she has to pay for it... :-)

Oh before I get bashed, let me point out that personally no agreement/contract or conditions would have been placed on any gift I have or ever will give. To me a gift is a gift. However in this instance an agreement has been entered into, she understood the terms and conditions, now she needs to honour that.
