Boy Sacrificed to Appease Diety

A nine-year-old boy’s beheaded body was found near the Mahanadi river in Chhattisgarh and the father alleged that the boy had been “sacrificed” to appease a god, the police said Saturday. The sensational murder of Class III student Hemlal Nishad was reported from Tilda village in Raipur district, some 110 km from here. The body was found Friday night, three days after the boy went missing.

The police have failed to find clues in the case though several villagers were interrogated.

The child’s head was found tonsured and his left palm had been chopped off. That convinced his father Suklal Nishad to say that “someone has sacrificed my son in a temple and dumped the body (near) the Mahanadi”.

Raipur District Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar said: “I can’t confirm that it’s a case of human sacrifice. Investigations are on. We are looking at every aspect of the case.”

The main problem lies with the religious scholars. they should speak up against such practices or malpractices in ALL religions.

Once again superstitions and fanaticism rears its ugly head!

@ Dal : such cases are not so uncommon from where we come from. Though its far less in numbers now, Alhamdullilah, every now and then these demons strike =(

Sadly,a lot of people resort to superstition.Even at the expense of the human lives. If that story is true.
