How I Can Take My Own Car To India
By Ankani Ravikumar •
Hai,
Any one can tell , How i can take my car to India ?
1, Is it Req any specific brand/year of manufacture?
2, Is it any tax pay related to make and model?
If Any one knows let me know the details
Well, the basic reason to charge huge customes is to avoid NRI's from importing vechiles. Considering Prado's cost in Bangalore, I would not mind paying 100% customes of the vechile cost but said that I would not do that considering the amount of petrol its gona consume out their.
You will find lots of info if you simply try to google for it. Here is what I found might help you - http://www.nriol.com/resources/customs/importcar.asp
Please let me know if happen to do it and your experience.
If you have extra spare money to throw, please consider me my friend. I am not sure what is the exact amount required for shipping and government formalities, but it is very sure it will be 2 to 3 times cost of your present car. Yes how about conversion from left hand to right hand side modification cost?
If you are taking Bently or BMW M3 to India, you can sell it for good amount of money.
Left hand driving wont be a problem it could be converted easily here in Doha Taxes in india would be the problem.Check that with import and export control department of your country. In Sri Lanka we have a gift programe.
I would advice you against it. Its very Very dangerous driving a left hand drive vehicle in a Right Hand Side Drive Country....and vice versa.
Vehicles would be passing you in the opposite direction ... a foot away from your vehicle ...and you will be judging with a disadvantage of 3 feet.....
