Crab vending machines ..

Making life easier......

Commuters in China who are too busy to keep supermarket opening hours are being offered a nutritious alternative to the diet of crisps, chocolate and fizzy drinks usually dispensed from train station vending machines – live crabs.

The automatic crab dispensers have been installed at several underground stations in Nanjing, the capital of the southeastern province of Jiangsu.

The crabs are packed into custom-fitted plastic boxes and chilled to 41F (5C) which is enough to sedate them but also keep them alive. A sign next to the machine offers three free crabs for anyone who is unlucky enough to get a dead one, the local 'Guangzhou Daily' newspaper reported.

I think it's a great idea. The Belgians have them for Frittes and I want some for Fish & Chips..

But this is something that's alive. So..... What would you like to be on offer from a vending machine ????

Tinker are you saying live crabs are not as fresh as you can get them? Plus it says 3 free crabs if you find a dead one :P

i know that. it's just that, i really can't understand their ways and means until now. hubby told me the same when he was in Japan, the subways are really like supermarkets and restaurants! lol

you will know why this kind of vending machine is placed at subways. Like many Japanese, Chinese are also workaholic people (in many big cities) and marketing is tight in their schedule. I experienced it before.

ROFL on (Keep it clean Rizks!) :D

on the topic:

making life easier for this people or simply idiotic ideas? i don't get the point honestly. i love "marketing" (in the Phils. though, not in the fish markets here).

it gives a relxing feeling, actually. :)
