"Lung Scar"

Hi all,
I just had my medical exam here in the Phils., for my employment in Qatar. But I got an 'unfit to work' remarks because of my scar in my lungs as seen on the x-ray.. Now, I don't know if I could still have a medical clearance or if I would continue to have my documents processed because of this..Any suggestions / reactions?

Hope to hear from you guys.. Thanks! :)

I have scarring too and I had problems with most of my pre-employment medical exam in the Phil. Then I came to Qatar on a visit visa and by God's grace my medical exam in the ministry was all clear. Perhaps my scarring is negligible in terms of size while others may have really prominent scarring. But a scar is a scar as the name suggests thus it is not active. And it does not always mean you had TB in the past if you have a scarring. Unfortunately this has been the cause of many job refusals particularly those who are aiming to work in Qatar and other parts of the Gulf except Dubai where scarring is not a problem at all. Try your luck and dont despair. And dont forget to add some prayers.

My nephew face the same problem before coming here to qatar. After undergoing medical test here, the same problem arise but he was sent to a govt. hospital here for further evaluation and was given some test and medicine to determine that it was just a plain scar or a TB. The doctor give him the clearence since the test results shows that it was just an old scar. He got his work visa approved. Good luck

I really don't know the technicalities..but as I understand with what they said, scars don't usually prove that I had TB or something..That's why its hard for me to just accept their recommendation... :(

My friendly advice is not to go if you are not unfit to work. Otherwise, after you come here they also conduct medical exam in the government, so there is no escape for altering your medical exam or try to fit your self before you come here.
