just want to ask if this is possible,, once your employer give you a waiver, asking for your signature, in which the waiver state that its either you go back to your country or you will accept your new salary which is reduced already compared to what they originally offered,,,

if this is the case what will i do then? shall i sign it? or complain to labor ministry?

many thanks

how long have you been in the company and what is your position. Its a case-to-case basis. I have an engineer-friend who signed this kind of offer because they lost projects and instead of about ten people to go home, everybody settled for decrease in salary (they were here for more than 5 years already).

I know some skilled workers who after 4 month upon arrival were given the same scenario and I advice them to bring it to labor and they won in labor. Now they are all in our country (after the company paid their salary and sent them home at the company's cost).

It really depends on your situation!

If they won't give you the original copy, get a photocopy.

THEN go to the LABOUR Office...

Frankly, if that happens before your visa stamping, then its called: a sort of extortion. if after visa stamping: a sort of humiliation. if after the probation period: a sort of demotion.

These are possible results:

Before stamping of visa, one will think of NOC. But difinitely the extortioner (employer) will ask you to pay the expenses for bringing you here plus, plus..

After stamping visa, oh my, you are in trouble. Even if NOC is there, your sponsorship can not be transferred to another employer. You have to wait for 1 year to be able to work for another employer on lending basis/not transfer. For transfer of sponsorship, 2 years required (that may change from time to time).

After the probation period, the employer has no right to reduce your salary. In this case if you decide to go, you will get the notice pay plus your leave benefits (not the end of service gratuity). Gratuity benefit is for those who completed at least 1 year service with their employer (plus any fraction of years after that, if any), of course any leave without pay will be deducted from the total service period. (Article 54, Qatar Labour Law)

Now, after you decided to go, difinitley you would think of coming back. Ok, let us wait till that time comes. And discuss what may happen. We are not suppose to cross the bridge before reaching it.

Always keep up good hope.

is it a big difference in the waiver?

anyways, if you have a signed contract, they will have to pay you as per it. should they select to send u home, u can always ask for an NOC or else two years ban.

never, ever sign that waiver. if they'll send you back home, so be it. find another employer/work.

Dont sign it. you have already signed your contract. And if they will send you home go home.. And find another employer.. make sure they will give you NOC.
