“I am happy that I have fans who love me here in the Kingdom, but I hope they leave me alone to enjoy my spiritual moments at the Holy Sites,” he said.

Not from me no she isn't because I'm using her picture illegally. But she's from a stock photo site which means she was paid for the pic .

Well, wonder how much you are adding in your bank with this old lady's picture,...whether you are or not...She i am sure is not getting any penny out of it.

No offense meant...

Not every action should be or could be a mean to commercial significance.

Peace

Did she allow them to take photo's of her praying? No. It's a bit different to announce it during an interview/photo shoot and actually take photographers around with you on your pilgrimage.

Julia Roberts declared she was Hindu at a photo-shoot a few days before the release of her film, does that make her insincere in her belief? Photo-shoots are a part and parcel of being famous, they are not a criterion for judging a person's beliefs.

Thats what we called Hidaya from Allah; he provides ONLY who seek the true path in LIFE.

You know who wrote Ramayana / Mahabharatha, Vyas Muni and Valmiki and how their lives transformed one day!

Well if you all want to be naive about his motives and have a convicted rapist/drug abuser as your poster boy, than have at it. Dig deep though, cause those pictures are going to cost more and more.

Talk and a photoshoot are entirely different things. Especially when you've shown NO dedication to your faith in the past.

By joe90• 6 Oct 2010 11:39

It is not unusual for famous people to talk about their religious beliefs. Tony Blair, Tom Cruise and Julia Roberts are just some examples. It can be argued that these people declared their faith as a means of gaining in their careers but in the end ones sincerity to ones faith is between themselves and their god.

By anonymous• 6 Oct 2010 11:07

Sure, that's why he denied his change in faith until after his bankruptcy, even going so far as to say he wanted to be a Christian Missionary in 2007.

Name change becomes mandatory in case if one's name has a meaning which is not within the line of one's new faith.

It could also be to project/indicate the change of religion. However it is always better to change the name for all good reasons. And yes the family/father name cannot be changed.

And further, to my best understanding one does not change his/her faith to get snaps published in press and gain money out of it. This is a serious matter more than money.

Peace

Well it would look kind of silly if he wasn't doing anything. Probably in the area of 10 grand. Depends how much the papers were willing to pay.

are perfroming pilgrimage; rest are learning/listening Quran, performing prayers and a meeting with Saudi officials......

And to all those who say a Muslim may or may not change his/her name after reverting back to Islam,a Muslim should change his/her first name after he/she embraces Islam.His/her family name remains unchanged though.

Because why else would he do it? The man's bankrupt. Paid appearances like this are probably the only money he can make.

Pilgram, this is Tyson you are talking about not Tony Blair or Clinton. He is not exactly known for his eloquence so I doubt he will get any 'speaking gigs'.

good day! you are right so dont look on the people whether muslim or Christian or any other religion there are good and bad so dont look on the people look on the teachings of the religion. ISLAM is the RELIGION and Muslims are the people who follow ISLAM. and there are saying THE SIZES OF OUR FINGERS ARE NOT ALL THESAME it means not all muslims are bad even they are in born or reverted. and the mistake of one person is not the mistake of every body.

There is no need to change the name when converting except if the name has a bad meaning. One woman in the UK named her twin sons Satan and Lucifer which would not be acceptable. Mike or Michael is the (Anglicised) name of an angel so it would be acceptable.

From what I know Malik Abdulaziz became Muslim many years ago when he was in prison.

Muslim names ...

are meaningful, beautiful and impact ones personality.

Second name is generally Father or family names, which they carry after conversion.
