Dear All,
I plan to buy 2011 model new car. Unfortunatelly I don't know prices, services networks etc. according to car brand in Qatar.
But, I selected a few cars. Could you advise me? Which car do you prefer below these cars?
1- Kia Sorento (2011)
2- Hyundai Tucson (2011)
3- Nissan Murano (2011)
4- Mitsubishi Pajero (2011)
5- Toyota Rav4 (2011)
6- Honda CRV (2011)
7- Or others

Could you compare and advise me these cars according to price / performance, second hand price, service networks, spare parts prices, security etc.

Note : I know some of them this cars are more expensive than the others like Rav4 or Pajero.

Thanks for your assistance.

Mr.speesh,

First of all i try to rply your questions?

My budget is up to 100.000 QAR.(For new car) (But if the car has a good conditions)

I plan to use this car for family car. and three years later ı will plan to sell. Almost I use it in the city. Little bit off rooad.

Yes, I am a mechanical engineer and i know which car is better than the others in technical side. But if you buy a car, you can't look only technical side. You have to look commercial and sevice side. If all of that items almost match one car, you choose that one.

For example; I said Tucson, I know the Tucson is not best car in it segment in technical spects. But if you compare; price, interior conditions, exterior conditions, budget, idea, using period etc. Tucson is a candidate for me.

Also, I want to learn service networks, used car sell conditions etc. Because, Qatar car market conditions much more different in my country market. (In my country a lot of people don't buy Japaniese or Korean car. Expecially we prefer Eurepean car.)Here is different.

Yes, I prefer second hand. But, I can't sure the condition of second hand cars. For this reason I am not sure.

Thanks.

how much is your budget?

what is your purpose?

you plan to sell your vehicle after use?

do you prefer second hand vehicle?

find and answer to these questions...

you have lots of options here....

come on...

you are a mechanical engineer right.

you know which car is the best without any advice..

only thing you want to know is...

the service facilities...

the cost of spare parts...

resale value...

i am using nissan pathfinder.

not even a single problem yet.

some times i abuse it in desert...

some times i drive crazy...

some times i drift...

still its good...

i dont prefer X terra.

its metacentric height is high

and also the center of gravity.

i agree its strong but it have more tendency to overturn.

anyway go nissan or toyota...

honda crv is also nice. (nissan x trail)

but not suitable for desert drive

take care.....

I visited all show rooms yesterday. I enjoy 2 cars. One of them Nissan XTerra an Hyundai Tucson.

I like Nissan ; it is a Japanies car, big and powerful. But i have some concerns about Xterra

a) Model Year 2010. (When I will turn back my country, I will want to sell this car, better price. 2010 model can be problem in that stage.)

b) Tucson has leather seats but Xterra doesn't have it.

c) Tucson has sunroof, bu Xterra doesn't have it.

If you were me, Which car do you prefer?

Mustafa if i were you,i would avoid the CRV altogether. But if you like it,then go for the 2011 model.Did you try the Nissan Pathfinder?.I suggest you do it.

are we comparing the NEW Maxima with the Altima?

Buy Toyota or Nissan. Best resale value. Good idea to go for second hand to minimize your losses as there are a lot of 2nd hand vehicles on the market these days - the crisis is also felt in Qatar. When we arrived 2 years ago there were no second hand Landcruisers to be seen for sale. Now there are loads around.

I recieved one offer from Honda for CRV. but it is 2010 model, but they make discount app. %10-12. What is your opinion ?

May I accept this offer? or I try to find 2011?

By Mr M.• 27 Sep 2010 16:02
Mr M.

Mustafa, yes the Land Cruiser is a bit more expensive than other SUV's.It's about QRS 190-210,000/- for the GX model.

You can even go for the Nissan Xterra.Fantastic SUV and excellent performance. An absolute masculine car.It costs about QRS 115-120,000/- for the SE model.

Mr.M.said

Land Crouser is better than the others. Unfortunatelly, My budget is not enough for Land Cruser. (I don't know the exact figure about Land Crusier, but I guess more expensive than the others.)

I don't prefer the sedan becouse of safety.

Thanks for your advice.

The Maxima has a luxurious interior but the Altima has better performance ratio and it's handling is far better and sportier.

Colt,i still prefer the Altima over the Maxima.

My advise is if you want an SUV,go for a Land Cruiser,if you prefer a sedan,go for a Camry GLX.

I am also planning to finalize CRV, good car, better service than toyota (as told by many). Although pajero is an option but for a family of 3, i would go for Honda for service and resale value.

But i am worried about the power of 4 wheel drive and spare parts.

RAV4 and Fortuner are not popular here.

Better go for Pajero

What about the prices about Rav4 and Fortuner?

Mr. Mustafa10

What i know here in Qatar that Toyota models are expensive but the spare parts are availiable too much.

If you want to buy a car consider that one day you may leave Qatar and then you need to sell it but with little loss in price.

Some kinds of cars when you want to sell it after a while, the price is reduced to the half.

As they told me,look for Toyota,Nissan,Honda,Mitsubishi models especially from Jaban.

Just ask before buying a car.

Thanks.

Ok i am being much clear now :)

Rav4 ( 2011 ) - 1,06,000 Qrs ( Base Model )

If you include more options the car shall have a greater price.

And the Rav4 of 2011 has a new look .. It has been redesigned ..:)

First of all thank you for your advice, Mandi.

Could you tell me, this web sites reflect the Qatar market conditions. Why do I ask expecially commercial terms? Let me explain, becouse I am a mechanical angineer and i know the well technological conditions of these cars. For these reason I try to catch price / performance or price / capacity rate in Qatar. Because, Qatar market conditions are little bit defferent in my country market conditions.

Thanks,

Go for a Toyota Rav 4 as it will be with you in the long run. a Second hand Rav 4 ( 2006 ) or Toyota Fortuner 2006 will cost about 45000 qrs and 54000 qrs.

Other cars like the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Tucson might appear to b very fasinating from the exteriro but shall develope strange problems withng the 2nd year of use ...

Honda CRV is also a Gud car but the price of the Spare Parts are very high for Honda..

So, I feel that Toyota Rav4 or Fortuner shall be a very great and reliable car for u..

Also Check in here - ( www.drivearabia.com ) and compare all the cars u desire to purchase ..:)

Good Luck
