Strip club regular sued for unpaid $46,000
The legion of lap dunces has a new member - a Long Island businessman who's being sued for stiffing a Manhattan strip club on a nearly $47,000 tab.
James Clooney, described in court papers as a "frequent patron of the Penthouse Executive Club," is accused of being a deadbeat after racking up a mammoth tab on steaks, booze and sexy dances at the W. 45th St. jiggle joint.
The topless gentlemen's club and its in-house Robert's Steakhouse extended Clooney the courtesy of an open charge account, allowing him to splurge on beef and babes for him and his guests.
The suit, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, says the Oyster Bay moneyman put $46,698.18 on his tab, then walked away from the bill.
"Although Mr. Clooney made some small partial payments from time to time...there remains due...$46,698.18, no portion of which has been paid," the suit says.
Clooney did not return calls or emails and his step-son grunted that a reporter needed to get off the Clooney spread, which includes a pool and a tennis court.
A lawyer for the Penthouse club did not return calls.
The club has previously sued several of its patrons for not paying their tabs, including a Westchester man who disappeared after running up a six-figure tab.
Other lap dance deadbeats include a married Missouri executive who got sued after he didn't pay the $241,000 he put on his corporate card at Scores and the husband of a Bangladeshi diplomat who landed in hot water for boozily putting $130,000 on his card at the same club.
