Can somebody please tell me what is the treatment for Turbinates (swelling of nasal cavity due to chronic infection) except surgery ? My 5 yrs son has this problem ,I have done his adenoactomy(removal of adenoids) surgery advised by Doctors in one of the famous private hospital but still he is suffering from the same problems like runny nose, common cold, block nose, swelling of mucus membrane in nasal cavity & so due to this he is unable to breath properly during nights(disturb sleep).Pls advise me if somebody goes through this problem like any treatment without surgery ? If I will think about the surgery who is the best surgeon/ENT specialist ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, I dont remember the medical word for the treatment of shrinking turbinates but I think it should be available in the major hospitals in India. Check with the ENT Specialists.

You should have gone for the latest shrinking techniques of turbinates rather than the complete removal which will lead to the Empty Nose Syndrom. I dont have much information about a good ENT Specialist here but please wait for other Qlers' comments.

i don't know if it will work for your son. almost the same case happened to one of my nephews. his pedia's advise is to drop saline solution 3 to 4 times a day or you can use the same solution for a nebulizer. i think it's just for some sort of cleansing. not really sure though. just to share with you. hopes he get well pretty soon.
