I need help. can somebody answer this..I still have an RP when I left qatar last march 2010, I resigned and my company didnt cancel my visa which will be expiring on june 23, 2010. I renew my passport in my country and was issued with a new passport. my husband working here in doha applied for a family visa last may 2010 and was approved by immigration using my new passport. so I came back here in qatar with new passport with family visit visa last june 2. The problem is when I ask the PRO from my previous employer to cancel my RP (my RP is expired now but have to be cancel so that immigration can stamp my new visa under husband sponsorship RP) he is saying that there is a problem. can someone enlighten me with this situation. PRO is wondering how I came back here in qatar with family visit visa and still having RP on my old passport.

about you leaving the former company, and honestly speaking, they can really do that. It's intimidation per se and I'm pretty sure that they will increase the pressure on you.

If the boss of the company is not cooperative or he/she can't help you (being the signatory of the company), then your other option is going to the human rights department and seek advise. Hopefully, you can convince them to help you in getting that old working visa cancellation with your old company. I pm'ed you, please check it out.

manong flor do you know somebody who is in the same situation with me? I dont have any issues with my old company, but they are not helpful now. they are making so many issues now on how I came back to qatar. and they cannot accept that in the philippines you can renew your passport even if it is not expired, especially my old passport is the green one.

I already went to my previous employer but they are not helpful. I think a simple cancellation will finish this one. my visa now with them is already expired. they just need to cancel it so my family resident visa can be stamped in my new passport. they are making some issues on how immigration issued a visit visa for me when my working visa that time is not yet expired.

You have no other option but to cancel your existing visa. Instead of spending your time here..please go and see your former company, get their PRO and cancell your visa. You have to get a NOC from your former company to cancel and re enter into Qatar in the normal case but as you are in Qatar and hold a family visa no need to worry but action required.

and officially (in writing) to cancel your visa. If the HR is not helpful, go to your supervisor or the Boss (if you don't have issues with them) and ask for their help. Cancellation of an old visa is just a simple procedure, unless................

can i cancel my RP personally? do you know someone who can help me sort this things? we are also wondering why immigration approve my family visit application in the first place if i still have RP that time on my old passport. does it means that if you presented a different passport (bec. i already renewed my passport) they cannot track that I still have an RP? but why when we go to immigration for visa stamping of my Husband family visa approve by labor, they have seen that my previous RP is not yet cancelled. This whole thing is so confusing..Please help me...

hi.....instead of running behind the PRO you better go to the immigration and do it yourself (i mean cancel your RP)..these PRO in all the companies are good for nothing just waste of time running behind them.....so i suggest go to the immigration in the block 4 and tell your story at the reception to the officer there ....i hope he will try to sort out your problem...dont worry just relax....

You can pursue other sources for information on the subject by checking with - the VISA agencies, Typists who do the documentation for VISA and also some legal counsel who would give correct info in lieu of a nominal fees or even free. You may give a try. HR departments and so also PROs in most companies enjoy others' plight rather than helping! So don't depend on their information only, also all PROs are not fully aware of facts. I have myself experienced sevaral VISA issues and sorted out through these means in Qatar as well as in UAEin past 14 years!

Go together with your PRO to the immigration and let them sort out face to face. As I see it, you have a valid visa and a valid passport...so procedureal lapse/fault if any lies at their end. You should be fine.

Shapil, I already told him the whole story. but he is thinking that I did something illegal when I renewed my passport in my country before coming here. But I never did anything illegal....He is wondering how the immigration issue a family visit visa and not found out that I still have RP. what to do? when we go to immigration they found out that my RP is expired but not cancelled, so they are only asking me to cancel my RP with the previous employer so they can stamp now my husband visa.

Tell the PRO your complete story on how you came back on a family visa with a new passport so that he can stop wondering and start acting.
