Men scared of their partner's driving

Time to own up... Are you on of them ????

Millions of men find themselves pushing their feet down into the footwell because their wife or partner brakes late.

Others regularly spend large chunks of a journey gripping the edges of the passenger seat.

A spokesman for OnePoll.com, an online market research giant which commissioned the study among 3,000 men, said: "Most feel they are better drivers than the women in their lives.

"They believe they concentrate a lot better, read road situations more quickly and clearly and have better reactions.

"One in five even went as far as to say they were never able to relax when their other half is driving."

The study also found that one in five couples have argued due to the other one's driving.

Men's biggest complaints were that women are too easily distracted by children, scenery or other motorists.

Other grumbles included allowing the car to "roll" from side to side instead of keeping it in a straight line and not staying away from rumble strips.

Flicking the accelerator, which results in a stop-start feel to the ride, also came high on the list as did getting too close to cars before overtaking.

It also emerged that one in ten men have felt it necessary to ask their wife to pull over so they can take the wheel.

A spokesman for OnePoll added: "I am sure women's driving can't be as bad as men believe.

"It is probably more a case that men just think they are safer drivers.

"Anyone can be distracted by things outside or inside the vehicle, so that argument doesn't really stack up."

TOP TEN COMPLAINTS ABOUT WOMEN'S DRIVING

1. Lack of concentration

2. Braking too late

3. Flicking the accelerator

4. Not avoiding rumble strips

5. Getting too close to other cars

6. Braking too hard

7. Fiddling with the stereo

8. Failure to indicate

9. Going too fast

10. Sticking in the middle lane

Shyam4u, I'm sorry you had bad experiences. I also try to avoid cars driven by bad drivers. The funny thing is after I got my driving licence from my country(it was quite an experience) and decided to take few lessons at the local driving school to get familiar with the roads here-I was shocked. My instructor didn't know half of the rules, hahahahahah. My instructor back home was making me mad everyday with his demands on following the rules and ways to control the car. He was teaching me every single thing from stratches and taking me to the worst roads we had in town, hahahahaha.

I had 3 of my friends engaged into serious accidents (all males).

One got into an accidents because he...... sneezed.... twice while entering onto the roundabout. Other cars in front of him stopped, but he couldn't see that. Terrible, but funny at the same time post fact.

Other two guys got their cars canceled with an interval of 2 years because some speedy cars coming from the opposite direction and driven by drunk guys landed on the top of their cars. Terrible. I din't know what to say. Be careful? Doesn't work in this situation.

sorry svetlana......

i know that u r good in driving.

ur confidence shows that...

i didnt say that all lady drivers are not good in driving...

may b i didnt find any1 like u...

u are right. when a women is driving, she never takes risks. and hence its safe when a women is driving a car.

but a men like 2 take risk, he challenge when he is driving. he use the vehicle 2 its max limit. thats y crash occurs. and thats rare.

when women makes 100 small crash. men make 10 major crash.

when a girls is accelerating, the rpm never reaches the red line. and when a men is driving, it will b always near the red line. thats the difference.

This is just a men poll. Who cares what men think.

They are just jealous, hahahahahahahah

Unfortunatley, statistically more crash fatalities occur when men drives. So car driven by women is safer.

i like driving very much...

more than that i like 2 teach driving....

bcoz i have my own ways 2 drive.

which i learned from my experience.

i learned driving by myself.

i taught driving 2 my brothers and sisters, including the 1 i loved.

and i dont think that girls r that much bad in driving.

but i faced lots of problems 2 teach a females...

i had 2 tell the same thing 100 times still they makes the same mistake...

and funny thing during the training is...

when some dangerous situation comes, they close their eyes and cover the face with hands. not only that, they 4get the bake and all...

many times had 2 tackle such situation during their training.

when they change gears, they look at gear and find the gear and look from where 2 where. by that time the car will b in the road.

they dont know when 2 change gears. and y v need 2 change the gears. they always look at speedometer 2 c weather she reached the speed 2 change the gear.

now they r very good in driving. and once i saw a excellent girl driver in car race. very aggressive and good. but she didn't qualify 4 the race.

what i mean 2 say is... not every girl is bad in driving.

and in qatar, i never find a good lady driver here.

worst driving ever seen in my life.

i must mention some problems that i have seen here.

1) they don't know how 2 turn the steering based on their speed.

2)mobile in one hand and lipstick on other.

3)when ever they stop in signal, they put the car in P. and will start make-up, looking at mirror. when the green light came she didnt moved her car. i sounded the horn. she suddenly change the gear to R instead of D and came back and hit at frond of my car. police came and told that, its my mistake... some police will b in girls side. she came reverse n signal and hit at my frond side. how this will b my mistake?

4) every 1 knows how 2 increase the speed. but they dont know how 2 stop suddenly.

5) they break the rules thinking that v will give them some consideration.

6) i saw a girl moving from 1st to 3rd and from 3rd to 1st 2 times in a round about. i wounded where she wants 2 go.

7)once a girl changed the track and hit on my car. but she didnt stopped her car.

when ever i c a lady driver, i let them go. bcoz i dont have time 2 go 2 police and explain that its not my mistake.

i think they are not trained properly. in driving school they only teach how 2 get the license. they will not teach how 2 drive. they think some of the law is not applicable 4 them.

The question is:"Are you one of them?".

By Bink187• 20 Jul 2010 10:21

Its not just my wife I do not trust its anyone thats not me in the drivers seat. I think my wife is really a better driver than me, as she is not as aggresive on the road. But I am truely worried when I ride in a car that is in the hands of someone else.
