Please help me here. My wife is pregnant and is right now in Pakistan. She will be delivering there as we have no relatives at all in Qatar and ofcourse no one can come from Pakistan.
.
Now her visa expires on 1st January,2011 but July is her 6th Month living outside of Qatar. While her EDD is in the last Month of September and i'm intending to bring her on Last week of November or 1st Week of December before her visa expires.

Yes, BALKUMARI is absolutely right..A person who stays for more than 6 month outside DOHA can pay QR 500 to extend it for another 6 months..But make sure that your wife should return before her RP gets expired or else you need to do everything from the level ZERO once her RP will get expired..

But even i feel that since u've noone here to take care of ur small kid, better allow her to stay in PAKISTAN with the elders around..Please don't hassle in calling her..BABY is first priority...Rest depends on you...

Yes, the life of your wife and baby is more important than anything. You have now two option:

1) Before she finishes her 6-months stay outside Qatar, you have to go to the immigration authorities (either in Medina Khalifa or Airport Immigration) and apply for extension of her exit permit for a further period of 6-months. There is specific format in which you can apply with supporting documents like a medical certificate saying "she is having a complicated pregnency and not adviseable to travel till she derlivers" something like that. They will charge you QRs. 2000/- for that if your application is approved. Then she can stay one year outside Qatar.

2) If you do not get the extension of her Exit Permit, her RP will become invalid. In that case, in the month of November, you can apply for a "special permit" to allow her to come back to Qatar as she will still be having a residence visa. You have to apply for the "special Permit" with supporting documents like medical certificate stating the reason. It is the samy authoritiy.

Hope things will be fine with you.

Best of luck.

there is a law still in practice which is if you want to extend 6 months you just have to pay QR500/- to immigration department in Airport & your wife can enter after 6 months any time.Chk with Airport immigration department your problem will be solved easily.

Dont be in rush. Life of your wife and child is more important than anything else. Check with HR department or immigration department of your company. They will advise you better. Also check once you applied, how long it will take to process.

If you can bring someone, then try it. This way you will know that if people are talking or is it really not possible to bring someone from Pakistan. You never know.
