Suzuki is owned by General Motors, and they also own what was Deawoo Motors from Korea, Now they use the factory in Korea to build the small cars and just badge them as required for the Market. I had really bad luck with a Deawoo, and with a suzuki. I would guess the maintenance cost should be low. I do not think I would buy another one. I would go for a more reliable brand from Japan (toyota or nissan) if you want the best car out of asia you need to get a Subaru.
