jameskgm, i really loved your thread... ;) BNB no need for the sofa, even on the conventional cockpit seats sometimes captain takes a nap. in boeing 777s there are crew bunkers, if a pilot needs to take a rest they can go to the bunker and sleep for a while. This happens mostly on a trans atlantic flight... :)
ya you are right, if you remember mid air collision over delhi in 1996 of a saudi 747 and a russian aircraft, at that time tcas was not compulsory to be installed on the aircraft, and it was the atc who was guiding the both aircrafts with a minimum separation height, though it was the fault of the russian crew, they didn't knew english properly and couldn't understand what the controller at delhi was saying.
After this incident TCAS was made mandatory on every aircraft....
No Soniya, I have tried QA and emirates and found out emirates is the worst one...
Saad- Thats the point.. We dont want u to die..we really enjoy ur posts and comments on QL..QL needs u. so be careful. Just accept once that u r being careful and u will be careful thats the end of the thread...right???
BNB, if tcas fails then atc ( air traffic control ) is watching the movement of the aircrafts on their radar scope on the ground, will tell us about the converging traffic or reciprocal traffic in a 10 miles radius of our aircraft
designed to reduce the incidence of mid-air collisions between aircraft. It monitors the airspace around an aircraft for other aircraft equipped with a corresponding active transponder, independent of air traffic control, and warns pilots of the presence of other transponder-equipped aircraft which may present a threat
well icao has made it mandatory to have tcas installed in aircraft which is carrying 19 or more passengers or MTMO ( Maximum take-off mass ) of over 5500 to 5700 kg.
very nice photos but if i were one of the passenger maybe I surely have a heart attack...but its nice MR.PILOT coz I know for sure you know what you are doing at the right time....careful...careful....
well i do take care, these days we have tcas ( traffic collision avoidance system ) installed in the aircraft which tell us about the aircraft in the vicinity....

take a bow Saad for your committement, i will prefer etihad only in future.
saad, i agreed, but some mid air collisions happened already right? why?
BNB, well if the time has come to die, i will die... first is safety of the passengers and the aircraft and then the rest... :)
beauty,r u using ETIHAD for ur journey?? saad is operating that airline..i wish if i could've used that airline for my journey to MUMBAI..
BNB, if tcas fails then atc ( air traffic control ) is watching the movement of the aircrafts on their radar scope on the ground, will tell us about the converging traffic or reciprocal traffic in a 10 miles radius of our aircraft
yeah saad, soniya is right. we know u r doing gr8 job. but we just want u to be safe.
if the machine fails, Saad will be the first one to jump off the plane with his Parachute....lol
If the machine fails Saad will be sad.

saad, we are not doubting ur flying calibre..So just relax and take it easy..
LOL
