problem wth the sponsor

hello to all

I need some answers please. I am Filipino.

I am almost 5 months now here in Qatar, and I bought my visa QR 11,000 and my sponsor didn't give me any receipt, but before he received my payment he told me that I can work in other company, then after they received the full payment for this visa. They will say that it's illegal to work in another company if I am under their sponsorship. And I thought for that QR 11,000 the RP and my PATAKA is included but its not. They are asking again another QR 2200 so that they can process my residence permit, they said if I don't pay they will give my passport to the CID...

So I want to ask if ever I report them to the authority, is there any chance for me to get my money back?? And will I go to jail for this matter?? coz they keep on saying that they can cancel me anytime they want since they didn't give me any receipt. Any advice for what I have to do with this problem.. And since they are arab and ofcourse can speak arabic maybe they will make it as if I am the bad person in this situation. Please anyone response to my problem.

NOTE: I really didn't know anything in this country and most of the people we knew gave us the wrong information that is the reason I am in these situation.

'cause they know that what they're doing is illegal here. So as for the 11K you gave, consider it gone. Your option now is to go to the proper authorities and hope they believe in your story and maybe give you a chance to work here (but honestly, your action to buy a visa is also an offense here so it's up to you to convince the authorities about your unfortunate plight).

I don't want to sound negative but many same cases like yours have been tackled by our POLO office and our embassy and the best help they'll gonna give you is expedite your flight back home!

they may not give you your money back... but I assure you that they will kick that motherF**** ass... and they will give you a choice to find a Job in some other place...

and him being my countryman does not mean that I would stand up to him even if he was a criminal... because Yes what he is doing is a crime that Law (here in Qatar) would punish them for it...

1. go the Human rights Org./ Inform your embassy (who will blame you) because your embassy was really clear about their rules, they require you to have a written contract in order to come here, because you may find many scammers as for these people

2. go to the Ministry of Labor in industrial area

Guys...

Do not generalize...

it is a sin to do so,

every country has the good and the bad, our friend here got caught with a very bad dude... and therefore he got stuck...

How many Palestinians/ Egyptians have you encountered in your professional life that made you have that kind of Idea REZYA?

do not look at the glass half empty!

Here is yet ANOTHER example of the way the expats are being enslaved here in the gulf.....treated worse than pigs. Maybe stop trying to tell the world how bad Israel is and focus on the major human rights violations going on right under your own noses.....truly shameful....

My friend...

I am an HR Manager, (and happen to be palestinian as well)

you can file a complaint to:

1. CID

2. Filipino Embassy

3. the Human rights organization

4. Ministry of Labor

you just can claim that when you cam you was offered a job here in Qatar for working (mention the same kind of business that this sponsor is running) and tell them that they asked for that much money to process the visa... then when you gave them the money, they claimed that there is no work for you and they also asked for an additional 2000 riyals for Visa processing in order for you to work outside... if they are playing dirty you do the same thing... here they Qataris like Filipinos and they will help

Qatar is running a big campaign against human trafficking now, I think it is a good chance to rise your voice

Again, if everything you say is true, why don't you just let us all know who this criminal Palestinian is. Send the name by PM. Maybe it will save others from being exploited the same way.

Thanks for your concern, even if I go to ministry how can I prove to them that I paid for my visa. I don't have any receipt with me. And maybe they will say that I am runaway.

This is disgusting - Iam so sorry to hear this and i hope someone from Filexpat group can help.

This Palestinian is doing something very illegal not to say morally disgusting.

Go to the Ministry of Labour and tell them your problem.

Go ahead and give him the QR2200 if you want to stay in this country and earn a decent living. Since you started in the wrong way, might as well go all the way. Good Luck
