Discrimantion against Filipinos in Chowking

riza_ana
By riza_ana

Can somebody please explain this to me? Chowking's customers are chiefly Filipino. Yet, if you are an Arab or Caucasian dining there, Chowking serves them at their tables. If you are Filipino however, you have to wait in line at the counter.

But the poster of the thread posted about nationalities, and how certain nationalities treat others, alledgedly.

So how can we not talk about nationalities?

I'm pretty sure of that sabina..who sez it's mine?likewise, I even care less when you wrote the word "load"... I got nothing to discuss with you but if I may quote you "I hate Ignorant, Stuck UP people, who don't have any respect whatsoever 2 others, they make me mad". I believe we're on the same path on championing equality among us all.

Is not your thread anyway!! We are entitled to express our opinions, thoughts and experiences - same as you!! Nobody is hitting on nationality/race, LOUD is not an abusive word.

By smart-me• 20 Jun 2010 20:13
smart-me

This thread is going nowhere.. I had previously wrote what needs to be understood... let's just leave each one their prerogative.. just refrain from hitting each nationality/race, I'm sure nobody wants a word back right? so please stick to the thread, let's not pollute a healthy discussion with unecessary comments about nationalities and their traits..

nobody takes order from the table, everybody need to fall in line. I doubt it very much!. MAy I ask the OP to cite the actual incident! She might misunderstood something.

I had one isolated incident wherein there was a confusion in our order and I ordered the "unserved" order from the able and gave the additional payment. But it is isolated and not the routine practice of making the order at the counter.

MAybe the OP can clarify the thing that made her start this thread!

I am glad i read this post, I now know that when I want to get better service I should introduce myself, place my order then tell the waiter where I work :) Seems throwing in my nationality may help also.

tried to go there a couple of times but i never got around to eating there for one reason or another and ended up at the nearby kfc instead so i don't know about the service. it's pure injustice to see a faux chinese fast food joint pretending to be a real restaurant here by charging those ridiculous prices for the kind of food they serve just because some people get to order at their tables and their kitchen area looks like it is a real chinese restaurant. maybe because i know just how much they cost back home and i can't help but convert. but really, what's the big deal? we all queue up back home.

you can always get authentic filipino food elsewhere at good value for money. filipino staff at other fast food outlets are usually nice to kabayans. sometimes, i even get free meal upgrades, additional servings, or they advise cheap meal combos you can order but are not on the published menu so you can save money when you're nice to them too.

i actually saw it happening a couple of times. when i asked a staff from chowking about it i was told that eventually everbody's orders will be taken from their tables. for the meantime, filipinos have to wait in line while other expats can just wait in their tables.. i never went back to chowking since

By batute• 18 Jun 2010 14:13
batute

we tried once to dine there but its too crowded and the place is so small and the food is not that worthy to wait for.. besides, discrimanation is normal to filipinos, hehehe

so don't bother and the best thing u must do is not to go there for you to avoid the so called descrimination...

peace to all

Chowking is a Chinese Fast Food Chain originated in The Philippines..

Fact: regardless of nationality, you have to fall in line at the counter to place an order.

Fact: Order will then be serve on your table.

Fact: regardless of where your working whether Q-Company or ABC- Company you will be treated with the same hospitality that Filipinos are known for.

Fact: "Self discrimination" happens not only to Filipinos but to other expats here in Doha.

Fact: All the staffs, excluding the security are all Filipinos

Fact: Chowking serves delicious chinese cuisine freshly cooked and served hot.

I hope I am able to convey facts about Chowking.. and I hope to see you guys there..
