My uncle who has been living in US for atleast 20 years is planning to take a stopover for a night and a day in Doha, on the way to India. Is it required to take a VISA for him to come out of the Airport?Has the new rules come into effect? Please help with your answers as time is running out....

I understand the new rules /law/regulations have been put on hold. The fact is, not many people from America and Europe will come to Qatar if they have to go through the hassle of getting a Visa to come over here. Putting it on hold is a step in the right direction.

By the way why was this implemented? Possibly to deal with a known enemy. Why not deal with THAT enemy directly?

New rules have been put on hold. If he is a US passport holder he can still get a visa on arrival.

If he is holding an Indian Passprt he should have a visa to enter Qatar even if he has been in US for 25 years.

it depends on his nationality.

if he is USA passport holder, he can obtain visa upon arrival... If he is going to enter Qatar on his indian passport, he will need to secure a visa prior to travelling.
