The steps were correct. I found this number from a previous posting: 4607266 or 45056091. What my husband and I usually do is to show up at the inspection site and join the queue of vehicles awaiting inspection. I believe their office timings are from 7:30AM to 4:00PM. Pay the inspection amount of QR75 at the cabin in front of the inspection area. Fire extinguishers are also available here. This inspection site is located in Al-Wakra after the roundabout with a huge shell on it. Turn right on that roundabout then head for the mosque and you will see the queue of cars.
Re-inspection should you fail the initial inspection starts at 4 PM on the same day and it is for free. You don't need to wait in line just for this. Head straight to the inspection personnel and tell them that you are there for re-inspection. If you still fail, another QR75 has to be paid on your next visit.
If you were lucky enough to pass the 1st inspection, go to the police office located on the left side of the first cabin where you paid for the inspection fee. Your paper will be stamped and signed by the duty officer and you're good to go.
Go to your insurance company and bring your old insurance paper, inspection paper, ID, and old vehicle registration card just in case.
After your renewal, go to the police station near Markhiya roundabout to renew your istimara. If you are a member of Arabian Automobile Association, they have free service and can renew your istimara on your behalf.
