How can a road be unique? A road is a road right??? The Gulf Times seems to think so....

‘Unique’ road for Doha

Ashghal is planning a road in Doha with an innovative design, according to its design chief Jamal Shereeda al-Kaabi. “It will change the way people think of roads.

It will be something we will all be proud of,” al-Kaabi told Gulf Times. Details, he said, would be announced next month during a presentation at an industry event. The “innovative” road will be built between the Arch Roundabout and The Ritz-Carlton.

might be the use of state of art technology, traffic control, congestion mangement, CCTV monitoring, and will finish the project within the contract time without delay. Further, it will be rainy-season resistant..no potholes after te 1st rain of season or pond forming :)

This also might have something to do with the fact that my 8 year old nephew has better proficiency in the English language & could write a more aptly worded story than the clowns parading themselves as "journalists" @ Gulf Times...by far,THE WORST newspaper i have read in my life...

....Most of any new initiative in Qatar is often called unique, one of the kind, pioneering...etc. And the worst is seeing lots on premature celebration, which usually aborts or delays the main mission.

hmmm....that makes me think...how DO I think of roads? And more importantly...SHOULD I think of roads....fundamental questions !

It'll be like level 3 of Mario-Kart Wii, with cows and popping up critters, and you can collect toys and shells and stuff and fire them at other drivers. If you're miles behind everyone else you'll get a bullet-bill to help you catch up! Fact!

potholes and depression on the roads are being re-surfaced & patched on emergency basis, most of the work executes at night when no traffic on the roads... for this purpose Road Operations & Maint. Dept. is playing its role at the level best...
