If it is only vacation then it is a matter of how many days is the company giving you for that.
On the other hand an expat with RP can not stay outside Qatar longer than 6 months, since after that time the RP is automatically suspended/cancelled.

if you are outside of the country for more than 6 months/ 180 days your visa will be automatically cancelled.
so you can take vacation for any length of time less than 6 months and still come back as long as your employer approves your leave
