Hi Dazzler,

Vodafone does not block calls to ANY numbers in Doha, We saw that our numbers cannot contact that helpdesk and we have tried to get a fix in place. This is not a vodafoe issue as I said earlier we do not black calls to any numbers in Doha.

both vodaphone and virgin have bad reputations elsewhere. yes t-coffee-or-me that's what i mean't to say...I think it's over priced don't you? it took them 18 days to just move the line to my new place! and they send a technician who knew a lot less than myself in telecoms!!!

Interesting. I can call the Virgin line from my Qtel phone, but my Vodaphone line is telling me the call cannot be made.

Is this the start of the phone wars? Are they legally allowed to block calls like that?

I think Virgin mobile will lose its reputation by coming to Qatar. A bit like Vodafone has done.

When are we gonna have a second Internet provider in Qatar, paying 300QR for a 1meg connection is very expensive.

Whoever wins in the price/service war, the end beneficiaries will be us.

may be you know Bahrain, nearly less than half of the population of Qatar has 4 mobile, 2 fixed and 5 broadband operators already :)))

I hope its pay back time for operators, and they must fight the impress, regain, retain their customers in Doha.

richard branson is renowned enterprenuer with over 200 successful business worldwide, I am looking forward to his ingenuity and NEW strategy to win customers here.

cheers

You can buy SIMs at thier stores and kiosks in all the malls and also at starlink,,..the mobile broadband offer is good as well...

well they are operating on qtels network so no issue with coverage we know it will be good.Virgin is famous for thier good customer service...something thats lacking in Qatar so i think they will do good

This afternoon at the opening of the Virgin Mobile Product line. According to them, they are a new telecommunication operator in Qatar.

You shall read the statement carefully.

"Qtel said that it is Virgin Mobile BRAND."

“ictQATAR does not object to licensed telecommunications operators using innovative practices to provide different products and services to the public.”

Please note that there is a statement officially released by ictQATAR saying that it has not approved this.
