ARE WE SOL CALLOUS?
Today's article in Gulf Times Time Out magazine "Sacking Ecology" by Fran Gillespie is a stark reminder of the considerable damage we are doing to mother nature everyday by simply being so obstinate and inconsiderate that we can't resist from using and discarding PLASTIC BAGS without any intelligence!
Guys / Gals there is a serious concern worldwide to reduce usage of plastic bags and no amount of debates is enough until there is conceivable collective acceptance that we all ought to contribute in whatever way we can!
REFUSE PLASTIC BAGS WHEN YOU ARE OUT FOR SHOPPING UNLESS ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED.....
CARRY YOUR OWN CLOTH BAGS
Lets all start this campaign in a small manner and I am sure this will gather momentum....
Me and my family have been doing this for many years now.....its become a HABIT!
if we don't start somewhere we certinaly will be forced to go back to basics as all mother earth's resources will be damaged beyond use....care for your next generation!
Most will dismiss this initiative as saying one person changing is not going to make a difference!
As they say charity begins at home..so we all individually need to practice what we preach....
Always take cloth bags when you step out..u never know when it will come handy and you can refuse to take plastic bag
we use lots of plastic bags everytime we go grocery shopping, but we don't throw it away after, we fold it properly and keep it in the cupboard and use repeatedly.. the problem is, some people just throw plastic bags out on the streets, and not only plastics mind you, but other rubbish too.. it's sad to see too many rubbish everytime we go to the beach just lying around when you see a number of rubbish bins spread all around the beach, they're just too lazy to look for one and dump their rubbish properly.. discipline is the key..
If your refuse then you don't get a bag.
how? And if you refuse, where to put your grocery or whatever you bought?
Paper bag? Paper?
The name of the game is proper disposal and/or recycling! Any product has it's own positive and negative things.
Plastic bags are chargeable in Germany as early as 1994..
I always refuse plastic bags. They should make them chargeable like they did in Dubai to reduce their use.
Those big cloth "shoppers" remind me of the old days back home. The one with the cloth over two wooden sticks...lol. back to basics now are we.
Good thought...I fully support this campaign....I got big reuseable paper/cloth bags..i will start using them from now..
Many drops of water makes an ocean...
