Nursing registration
By kiwiswithwings •
We are moving to Doha in Sept as my husband has a family contract. I am a registered nurse with 17 years experience and am wondering how I go about getting my registration to practice in Qatar before I leave New Zealand? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I've searched the forums but still am not sure who to contact.
Cheers!
You cannot apply for licensure until u have secured a job here. You should get all your documents certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in NZ before u leave - including a police certificate obtained in NZ - then u need to get them signed by the embassy here in Qatar/Abu DHabi then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here in Qatar.
Please see the below links also, may be helpfull

The permanent licensing committee has approved the amendments of the policy regulating General Scope Nurse Registration and Licensing as follows:
* Bachelor degree in nursing or its equivalent (three- year diploma in nursing after high school).
* Valid professional license from home country.
* Minimum of two years clinical nursing experience in a recognized health care facility.
* Being in contact with clinical practice for the last one year.
Applicants with total clinical experience (between 18 month and 2 years ) may apply for licensure where they will undergo training for six months under direct supervision, and after passing SCH licensing examination they will be eligible for licensing .
Every health practitioner and employer has a legal and ethical responsibility for any document he/she submit to the department therefore make sure that all documents submitted for evaluation match those submitted for verification, in case of any discrepancy the application will be revoked.
