Living in Qatar costs too much?

Salam Alaykoum,

This year, I've applied for the Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers program of Qatar University and if my application is accepted,I'll come to Qatar for 6 months. As fas as I know the university also gives a monthly recipient, approx. 500 Qatari Dinar in addition to the other costs such as food, dormitory, transportation, etc. Let's imagine that I will go to the city center from university twice a week and I will eat traditional food of Qatar in those trips. Do you think how much I'll need additionally to this 500 Qatari Dinar during my life in Qatar...

Shukran,

If accommodations, food, transportation, school and activity expenses are covered, you could probably live on QR500 per month. Still, you may want to bring a bit extra to cover going out and incidentals while you are here.
