Major Horse Racing Festival & Show March23-25

A top quality of horses have been put together for this year’s H H The Emir Racing and Equestrian Festival which will start at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (REC) from March 22 and culminate on March 24.
This week marks the most awaited racing meeting of the Qatar racing calendar with H H The Emir Trophy and H H The Emir Sword races to be run on Wednesday and Thursday.
H H The Emir Racing and Equestrian Festival gets under way with H H The Emir National Straight Egyptian Arabian Horse Show from 4.00 pm on March 22.
On the following day, a performance by world renowned Frenchman Jean Francois Pignon will enthral Doha audience.
Since 1993, Jean Francois is performing in foreign countries, especially Germany, where people love his performance by liberty horses. Jean Francois is lucky to get the chance to perform at the biggest events in different countries (Austria, Spain, Sweden, England, Germany, Switzerland).
In 2003, his group consisted of eight horses. He carved the shows out especially for them. Jean Francois achieves the maximum of trust between horse and man.
Today he educates people all over the world and shows them his method of training horses, from Japan to Canada.
“The REC is getting ready with all the necessary preparations for the H H The Emir Racing and Equestrian Festival. It is going to be a different kind of experience for all the racing enthusiasts. We have lined up Arabian Horse Shows including a performance from world renowned Frenchman Jean Francois Pignon,” remarked REC’s General Manager Sami Jassim Al Boenain.

World renowned equestrian showman Jean Francois Pignon with his team of four riders, 12 horses and a Spanish music band, will be the star attraction during the opening ceremony of the HH the Emir Trophies and Sword Festival at the outdoor arena of the Qatar Equestrian Federation today. The show begins at 7.30pm.
Jean François Pignon is famous for his breath taking displays with his horses, which he has now been performing for over 25 years.
