transitvisa saudi-bahrain question

Hello,

We'd like to travel by car from Qatar via Saudi to Bahrain. I wonder if the transit visa needs to be for a fixed date or for a certain period.

We'd like to go at the end of march but work might make it necessary to go a few days later and come back later as well. Is that possible or can we only enter Saudi on fiexed dates?
