i'm referring to members who have passed the official mensa test in their home country. there are some online tests. the official tests are administered by mensa which has chapters in most of the countries. i'm not sure wheher there is any Qatar chapter; but i guess there are a few mensans [who have passed the mensa test] who are in doha.
IQ is like any other gift/talent. You certainly can improve your dancing by practicing, but you will never be a outstanding dancer if you are not gifted inthis field. You can improve your signing, you Math abilities, your EVERYTHING up to some point, and depends on how talented you are in this area or another. And other way around. If you are gifted, but you are not developing your talent, you are losing your potential.
But to reach the heights, first of all you have to have a talent/gift/ability, PLUS to work hard on developing your potential. Only combination of these two might bring your to the highest level in any area.

i don't know about how the score gets calculated or on what basis.maybe the website where i took the test on should provide some answers.but i remember just the score quite clearly as we had to take a print-out of the result and show it in class the next day.
just as an additional info, the Mensa website says that The term "IQ score" is widely used but poorly defined. There are a large number of tests with different scales. The result on one test of 132 can be the same as a score 148 on another test.

i'd scored a neat 153 on my Mensa test a few years ago.but having a high IQ does not mean anything related to getting a better job, high scores in exams, etc.having a high IQ means that you have better and quicker problem solving capabilities and a little more common sense.as for examinations, the ones with better ability in memorizing always gets to the top.IQ has no correlation with memory capacity.

I was once a part of a study conducted by a professional organization conducting IQ level tests.
I was told that we can increase or decrease our IQ level by 15% with our own capabilities, but the other 85% represents the level you were meant to have in life...
I was given a full analysis of my test results and it was like five pages telling me where my weakness and strength points were. It was a very fruitful and useful experience.
I would encourage anyone to take a real professional test with an analysis that could help improve you IQ (your mental capabilities)...

Obstacles are what you see when you set your eyes off the goal.
IQ (Intelligence Quotient) is the measure of one's intelligence so to speak. It is relative and reflects how intelligent you are compared to others in your age group. If you have IQ of 100 it means you have average or normal intelligence. IQ of 140 plus I think is classified as Genius but not sure about that..
It can change and generally does change with time. We can ofcourse increase it, the more you use your brain, more efficient it becomes.
As for being born with a certain IQ, well there are conflicting theories, some say you inherit it through your genes, others think it is not. Nothing certain.
As for testing you can find hundreds of such tests online, just google for IQ tests or go to www.mensa.org.. Mensa tests can be a bit tough so don't try it if you haven't given any tests before.

The greatest value of 1 minus the lowest value of 1 is equal to 1 o_O
Dont break your keyboard out of frustration :-P
one minus one?
Its just a relative yet simple measurement of how stupid you are.
it was a year old post; but i picked it up recently to know if there are any mensans around
Ditto.
I must start looking at the dates of postings :-(
I think we're all in the Densa club today considering we're replaying to a post that's over a year old...
Densa Club? They did not invite you in the Mensa "Club?" What a disaster.
Have to be taken with a pinch of salt most of the time.
When an IQ is taken; it judges you on the knowledge you have attained and how you use that knowledge, not what can be achieved.
Can you improve on IQ? Yes, you can in certain cases.
Does a high IQ make you the smarter better person? No, you can have an average IQ and function better at a high level occupation.
In most cases having too high an IQ hinders that person; because after all once you have learnt it all- what after?
Today I feel as though I am functioning at perhaps an IQ of 12 so I am with Brit in the Densa Club :-)
nothing wrong with my QI level.
hi & gdmrng all. (Hi and Good Morning all)
Well , wat's an I Q level? (I would like to know what an IQ level is.)
Does it imporves with age & time ? (Does your IQ increase as you age?)
Can we improve it or it is somethng we are born with? (Can we improve our IQ or are we stuck with the one we were born with?)
How can we test our IQ level. (How can I test my IQ level?)
cheers (Cheers,)
hav a nice day. (Have a nice day.
If you want to appear smarter I suggest you start by not writing in text speak.
raviunni, as far as I know , there is no MENSA chapter in Qatar.

when i checked last time mine was 56 is it good?
are there any mensa members in Doha ?
I scored pretty high on my Densa test. To be honest the 1Q level hasn't hindered or helped me in my stupidity.
Nobody beats me as a pirate.

Excuse me svelte_saggi, but what was the score range of your test?!
I have never seen such a high scale or score.
Usually most tests (all the famous one I know) have a maximum of 145.
No one has even practically scored 144.
You can check this for yourself:
