9 Killed, 45 injured in Pune terror attack.....
In the first major terror strike in India after 26/11, nine people were killed and 45 injured when a high-intensity bomb exploded at the German Bakery at Koregaon Park, Pune, on Saturday evening.
One victims is a foreigner; the identity of the rest had not been ascertained till late Saturday.
The blast occurred at 7 pm. People in the vicinity heard an explosion and initially suspected it to be a cylinder blast.
The German Bakery, a favourite haunt for foreigners, is located just across the road from Osho Ashram. A Jewish Chabad house and a synagogue are 500 metres away from the bakery.
“A bomb disposal squad confirmed it to be a bomb blast. Details of the explosives used are being ascertained,” said a spokesperson of the Army’s Southern Command headquartered at Pune.

@Dotcom........this is the old preconcieved notions about meetings and peace talk sessions. India's MEA are quite serious and positive; ensure that each delegate will be answerable and accountable.
It is in our own interest; India could not become one of the World's Strongest Economy without ensuring removal of poverty, unemployment, terrorism and balanced development of all Asian countries in the region taking into consideration all bordering nations such as Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Afghanistan, China, etc.
We need to have collateral support and friendly relationship among us to strenghthen our region and shall become self reliant and less dependent on western imports.
Earlier, our issues were lack of education, finance, Hi- Tech know-how and infrastucture but now we have enough capabilities, skills, resources and potentials to make a big difference and could work towards progression and development of the region.
We shall take EU as role model and follow in their steps.

I still remember the day when i had some snacks and soft drinks at German Bakers outside Osho Ashram, after having visited Osho Ashram.....i cant imagine, that place is no more existing coz of terrorist attacks.....it was a wonderful place and good crowd there always.....mostly foreigners......it was a landmark of pune....

Its really sad and absolutely shocking news for all of us in the wake of V-DAY..May GOD gives the hardest punishment to the culprits...
it is very easy to just blame somebody but very difficult to identify the root causes, analyse the situation and provide most appropriate measures to solve the issue.

@ dot.com,it was a bomb left in a bag with a timer,actually there were two bags left but because people were vigilant,only one went off,bomb disposal squad arrived & neutralized the 2nd one. It's a shame that people in peaceful parts of India like beautiful Pune have to bear the brunt of these damn terrorists...
Wait for a few months before the actual results come out. Now there is a lot of drip feeding going on. IT even mentions some American jailed in USA being the mastermind of this.
Now home secretary has confirmed the blast was triggered by IED and not gas cylinder...just wondering why suddenly these blasts or some such incidents happen when there is some issue going on.
