My Family
By Fitnesspro •
Hi QL...
I have been in Doha for 2 weeks now and finding it a fantastic experience (all be it i'm missing my wife and children).
My family fly out here from UK back end of Feb and I was wondering if there are any families similar to us looking to make friends here in Doha.
We have a villa near education city and have 2 sons under 2 years old. We are keen to make some friends during our stay here over the next few years for socialising, having a coffee, bbq's, shopping etc etc..
Sorry if this sounds cheesy or is not a permitted thread - just not sure how to go about meeting people here!
Anyway - I shall see what this thread creates in the near future - Shallah!
Dear shelly
You are welcome to Qatar and i hop we can be close friends
Definitely come play soccer on Saturdays! It's my husband who "organizes" the game, and there are generally around eight to ten players. It's not a full-on game on a soccer field, but they definitely get a great workout.
If you have questions about Doha Expat Mums & Kids just give me a shout. :)
I am also new here...trying to look for friends and trying to find luck in looking for jobs....i find qatar a very progressive country...and many nationalities comes here for work or investing in here...I hope you can include me as your friend too... because for me friends are treasures that cannot be taken anywhere you go.....I welcome you all as my new friend please feel free to PM me...my name is shelly,31y/o a friendly filipina here....take care......
Hi There we have been here about 4 months now would love to extend our friend basis my and my husband are british I have 2 daughters one of 5 one of 18months pm me if you want to catch up
also check out doha expats mums and kids your self they have a dads soccer team which would be a good way for you to make somew friends with families before yor wife and kids get here
hello......when your family will come here you should try the Aspire Park, near Villaggio....it's very nice, not only for kids....I've been there Saturday for a picnic and I really enjoyed it.... My advice after my few years Doha's experience (also as a European expat) is that you should try all kind of activities, outdoor, as much as you can and when the weather will allow you (in this way you'll avoid just sitting home and do nothing....).
For any other suggestions....just shout here......I'm sure you'll find friends to reply......all the best

You'll find it quite easy to make friends once you get here. Education City has tons of kids, which is a huge plus. Since you have kids, your wife will want to check out Doha Expat Mums and Kids when she arrives (if not before) - there are tons of playgroups, tours around the city, coffee mornings, Mums Night Out, and family events. Visit the website at http://www.dohaexpatmumsandkids.com for more info - and welcome to Qatar!
welcome its wonderful hope we can be frndz
