Hey, um I searched this website for this information but i couldn't find it! please help with the following:

I bought an iPhone 3G, NOT 3Gs, second hand from a friend and it worked fine here. But after I got it restored and jailbroken using blackra1n and unlocking with sn0w I can find both carriers Qtel and Vodafone. (by the way my sim card is a Hala card so its not subscribed or anything)

BUT here's the thing: when I click on Qat-Qtel it says "network lost". Could you please help me so that I can at least call; PLEASE PLEASE HELP! i paid quite some money for it :(

bobbbbby,

go to qtel and say that your unlocked phone is unable to capture qtel's network if they won't help you (as I suspect), go to Mac in City Centre and tell them that your UNLOCKED phone is not capturing Qtel's network and ask them to have it checked by the specialized technician. It won’t be that costly and they have always solved my bugs with Mac products.

The max I have paid was 100QR.

If you cant still solve your problem. Wait until you go back to your country and go to any Mac shop. They will be pleased to help you with a smile.

Good luck

PS. Just a last advice: never ever buy 2nd hand gadgets again.

dude it is supported by Q-Tel

do two things

1) Let the carrier be automatic...dont specicy qtel or voda

2) if the prob persists, search dev team blog in google and follow their instructions to unlock it once more...use ultrasnow this time

I didn't do anything special. I bought it (3Gs) unlocked in a Mac shop overseas. I use several countries SIM cards and it works in all countries including here in Qatar with the Hala card.

Try to go to a Mac shop (City Center or The Mall), they have specialized technical support who will certainly help you.
